No prior studies available for comparison.

Technique

Multiplanar MRI images of the knee were obtained without IV contrast.

Findings

Detailed anatomical assessment of the knee joint follows.
Medial Meniscus: Normal medial meniscus without intra-substance degeneration, surface fraying, or discrete meniscal tear.
Lateral Meniscus: Normal lateral meniscus without intra-substance degeneration, surface fraying, or discrete meniscal tear. Normal meniscal fascicles.
Anterior Cruciate Ligament: Normal anterior cruciate ligament without tear, laxity, or sprain.
Posterior Cruciate Ligament: Normal posterior cruciate ligament.
Fibular Collateral Ligament and Posterolateral Structures: Normal fibular collateral ligament and biceps femoris tendon complex. Normal iliotibial band. No evidence of injury to the posterolateral corner, including the popliteus myotendinous complex.
Medial Collateral Ligament and Posteromedial Structures: Normal medial collateral ligament including superficial fibers, meniscofemoral and meniscotibial ligaments. Normal posteromedial corner, including the distal semimembranosus complex, gracilis and semitendinosus tendons.
Patellar Tendon: Normal infrapatellar tendon.
Quadriceps Tendon: Normal quadriceps tendon.
Articular Cartilage: Normal hyaline articular cartilage without focal osteochondral defects.
Bone Marrow and Osseous Structures: Normal bone marrow signal without fracture or bone edema.
Soft Tissues and Musculature: No soft tissue masses. Normal muscle groups of the visualized distal thigh and proximal leg, without edema or atrophy. Normal subcutaneous adipose tissue space.
Joint Space and Fluid: No joint effusion, popliteal cyst, or periarticular bursitis. No intra-articular osteochondral bodies.
