Title
MRI of the Orbits Without and With Intravenous Contrast
Clinical History
Patient-specific — populated from user input at report time. Shows "None" if not provided.
Comparison
No prior studies available for comparison.
Technique
Multi-planar MRI of the orbits was obtained utilizing axial (T1 FS, T2 FS), coronal (T2 FS, T1) and bilateral oblique T1 FS sequences without contrast. Following intravenous contrast administration, axial T1 FS, coronal T1 FS and oblique T1 FS images were acquired. Additional brain imaging included axial (T1, DWI, ADC) and sagittal (T1) sequences without contrast, and axial sequences with contrast.
Findings
Multiplanar imaging of the orbits demonstrates normal anatomy without acute abnormality.
Orbital Globes
The orbital globes are normal in size and symmetric without evidence of proptosis.
Orbital Masses and Lesions
No evidence of mass or abnormal enhancing lesion within the orbits.
Extraocular Muscles
The extraocular muscles appear unremarkable bilaterally.
Optic Nerves and Chiasm
The optic chiasm is normal in size without evidence of impingement.
Pituitary Stalk
The pituitary stalk appears unremarkable.
Cavernous Sinuses
The cavernous sinuses appear unremarkable bilaterally.
Brain Parenchyma
Brain parenchyma demonstrates normal signal intensity and no acute intracranial abnormality.
Impression
MRI of the orbits without and with contrast demonstrates normal orbital anatomy without evidence of mass, inflammation, or structural abnormality.
