Title
MRI of the Thoracic Spine Without and With Intravenous Contrast
Clinical History
Patient-specific — populated from user input at report time. Shows "None" if not provided.
Comparison
No prior studies available for comparison.
Technique
Multi-planar MRI of the thoracic spine was performed. Axial T1, axial T2, sagittal T1, sagittal T2, and sagittal and coronal STIR sequences were obtained. Sagittal T2 sequence of the cervical spine was obtained for localization. Following gadolinium administration, axial and sagittal T1 weighted images were performed.
Findings
Evaluation of the thoracic spine demonstrates normal alignment and signal characteristics throughout.
Spinal Alignment and Curvature
Preservation of the usual thoracic kyphosis with normal alignment.
Vertebral Bodies
Thoracic vertebral body heights and alignment are maintained. No evidence of acute fracture or spondylolisthesis. No expansile or destructive osseous lesions.
Intervertebral Discs
Normal signal and heights of the intervertebral discs. No significant disc bulge or herniation.
Spinal Canal and Neural Foramina
No significant central canal or neural foraminal stenosis.
Spinal Cord
The visualized lower cervical and thoracic cord has normal size and contour, without evidence of abnormal enlargement, cavitation, or abnormal intramedullary signal.
Epidural Space
No epidural mass or collection is seen.
Paravertebral Soft Tissues
The paravertebral soft tissues are unremarkable.
Impression
Unremarkable MRI evaluation of the thoracic spine.
