Title
CT Paranasal Sinuses Without Intravenous Contrast
Clinical History
Patient-specific — populated from user input at report time. Shows "None" if not provided.
Comparison
No prior studies available for comparison.
Technique
Paranasal sinus CT was performed with contiguous thin-section axial images. Coronal and sagittal reformats were generated. Images were reviewed in soft tissue and bone windows. No intravenous contrast was administered.
Findings
The paranasal sinuses are well-developed and pneumatized.
Paranasal Sinuses:
The paranasal sinuses are well-developed. There is no significant mucosal thickening or fluid levels within the paranasal sinuses bilaterally.
Mastoid Air Cells:
The mastoid air cells are well-aerated bilaterally without significant mucosal thickening or fluid levels.
Cribriform Plate and Crista Galli:
The cribriform plate and crista galli appear intact.
Fovea Ethmoidalis:
The fovea ethmoidalis is symmetric.
Ostiomeatal Units:
The infundibula of the ostiomeatal units appear patent bilaterally.
Nasal Septum:
The nasal septum is not significantly deviated.
Maxillofacial Skeleton:
No maxillofacial fracture is visualized.
Orbital Globes:
The orbital globes are normal in size and symmetric. There is no significant proptosis.
Retrobulbar Space:
There is no evidence of retrobulbar mass or hematoma.
Extraocular Muscles:
The extraocular muscles appear preserved bilaterally.
Optic Nerves and Sheaths:
The optic nerve/sheath complexes appear preserved bilaterally.
Orbital Osseous Structures:
The osseous structures of the orbits are intact.
Cavernous Sinuses:
The cavernous sinuses appear symmetric. Note that evaluation is limited due to lack of intravenous contrast.
Paracavernous Soft Tissues:
The paracavernal soft tissues appear symmetric.
Impression
No evidence of acute or chronic sinusitis.
